Multi-View Visual Relationship Detection with Estimated Depth Map

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The abundant visual information contained in multi-view images is widely used in computer vision tasks. Existing visual relationship detection frameworks have extended the feature vector to improve model performance.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Salient object detection with high‐level prior based on Bayesian fusion

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, 2017
Most of approaches to salient object detection focused on two‐dimensional images, while rare attention was attached to the light field which can provide exclusive visual information for salient object detection and other computer vision applications.

FACE RECOGNITION TECHNIQUES

open access: yesInformatyka, Automatyka, Pomiary w Gospodarce i Ochronie Środowiska, 2020
The problem of face recognition is discussed. The main methods of recognition are considered. The calibrated stereo pair for the face and calculating the depth map by the correlation algorithm are used.

Edge loss functions for deep-learning depth-map

open access: yesMachine Learning with Applications, 2022
Depth computation from an image is useful for many robotic systems like obstacle recognition, autonomous navigation, and 3D measurements. The estimation is best solved with Deep Neural Networks (DNN) as these are non-linear and ill-posed problems.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

A Fitting Recognition Approach Combining Depth-Attention YOLOv5 and Prior Synthetic Dataset

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
To address power transmission lines (PTLs) traveling through complex environments leading to misdetections and omissions in fitting recognition using cameras, we propose a fitting recognition approach combining depth-attention YOLOv5 and prior synthetic ...

Avoiding negative depth in inverse depth bearing-only SLAM

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper we consider ways to alleviate negative estimated depth for the inverse depth parameterisation of bearing-only SLAM. This problem, which can arise even if the beacons are far from the platform, can cause catastrophic failure of the filter. We

Additive depth maps, a compact approach for shape completion of single view depth maps

open access: yesGraphical Models, 2019
Abstract In this paper we introduce a 2D convolutional neural network (CNN) which exploits the additive depth map, a minimal representation of volume, for reconstructing occluded portions of objects captured using commodity depth sensors. The additive depth map represents the amount of depth needed to transform the input into the “back” depth map ...
