Magnetic Penetration Depth in Unconventional Superconductors

open access: yes, 2006
This topical review summarizes various features of magnetic penetration depth in unconventional superconductors. Precise measurements of the penetration depth as a function of temperature, magnetic field and crystal orientation can provide detailed ...

Clinically relevant investigation of flattening filter-free skin dose [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
As flattening filter-free (FFF) photon beams become readily available for treatment delivery in techniques such as SBRT, thorough investigation of skin dose from FFF photon beams is necessary under clinically relevant conditions.

Flat Film: Strategies of Depthlessness in Pleasantville and La Haine

open access: yesFilm-Philosophy, 2018
In this essay I consider the device of depthlessness in film. I am interested in particular in the ways in which this device can determine, or at least raise questions about, the nature of the fictional world.

Analysis of fuel spray droplets with high-resolution image and depth of object field calibration

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2023
The atomization process of fuel spray injection in internal combustion engines affects the spray mixture formation process, the combustion characteristics, and the formation of toxic substances. Therefore, several optical measurement procedures have been

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

The Effects of Depth of Field on Subjective Evaluation of Aesthetic Appeal and Image Quality of Photographs

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Aesthetic appeal and image quality are two important features of photographs, which play the dominant role when people clean their albums. Currently, the objective image quality assessment has been documented very well whereas the objective aesthetic ...

Deep-tissue large field of view imaging by Fourier conjugate adaptive optics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Light microscopy enables multifunctional imaging of biological specimens at unprecedented depths and resolutions. However, the performance of all optical methods degrades with the imaging depth due to sample-induced aberrations.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Toward Depth Estimation Using Mask-Based Lensless Cameras

open access: yes, 2017
Recently, coded masks have been used to demonstrate a thin form-factor lensless camera, FlatCam, in which a mask is placed immediately on top of a bare image sensor.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
