Uncertainty of Depth Sensing Hardness
Materials Testing, 1997Depth sensing hardness measurements have been performed in a round robin test on metallic alloys and glass with different degrees of surface roughness. The standard deviation of the penetration depths has been determined for fixed load values between 0.05 N and 87.1 N, respectively, and analyzed dependent upon the arithmetic roughness. The contribution

Depth map compression via compressed sensing
2009 16th IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2009We propose in this paper a new scheme based on compressed sensing to compress a depth map. We first subsample the entity in the frequency domain to take advantage of its compressibility. We then derive a reconstruction scheme to recover the original map from the subsamples using a non-linear conjugate gradient minimization scheme.

Spatiotemporal model for depth perception in electric sensing
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 2019Electric sensing involves measuring the voltage changes in an actively generated electric field, enabling an environment to be characterized by its electrical properties. It has been applied in a variety of contexts, from geophysics to biomedical imaging.

Marcel Duchamp: The Sense of Depth
Art Studies JournalNew discursive practice of visual thinking in the avant-garde art, fundamentally different from everything that existed at the beginning of the 20th century, is associated with the name of Marcel Duchamp. This kind of discursive practice has the character of a value-communicative strategy of the entire culture of the 20th and 21st centuries.
