An Optimal Derivative Free Family of Chebyshev–Halley’s Method for Multiple Zeros

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
In this manuscript, we introduce the higher-order optimal derivative-free family of Chebyshev–Halley’s iterative technique to solve the nonlinear equation having the multiple roots. The designed scheme makes use of the weight function and one parameter α

Accurate, rapid identification of dislocation lines in coherent diffractive imaging via a min-max optimization formulation

open access: yes, 2017
Defects such as dislocations impact materials properties and their response during external stimuli. Defect engineering has emerged as a possible route to improving the performance of materials over a wide range of applications, including batteries ...

The flexible nature of exchange, correlation and Hartree physics: resolving "delocalization" errors in a 'correlation free' density functional [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
By exploiting freedoms in the definitions of 'correlation', 'exchange' and 'Hartree' physics in ensemble systems we better generalise the notion of 'exact exchange' (EXX) to systems with fractional occupations functions of the frontier orbitals, arising ...

Solving Nonsmooth Equations Using Derivative-Free Methods [PDF]

open access: yesThe Bulletin of Society for Mathematical Services and Standards, 2012
In this paper, a family of derivative-free methods of cubic convergence for solving nonlinear equations is suggested. In the proposed methods, several linear combinations of divided differences are used in order to get a good estimation of the derivative of the given function at the different steps of the iteration.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Resolving the Azimuthal Ambiguity in Vector Magnetogram Data with the Divergence-Free Condition: Application to Discrete Data

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate how the divergence-free property of magnetic fields can be exploited to resolve the azimuthal ambiguity present in solar vector magnetogram data, by using line-of-sight and horizontal heliographic derivative information as approximated ...

A PRSZT Registry Analysis of Prognostic Factors Influencing Survival and Relapse Rates After Second Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A second allogeneic (allo‐)hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT2) is a potential curative option for pediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) following relapse after first allogeneic transplantation (HSCT1), but its efficacy is limited by high relapse rates and transplant‐related toxicity in highly pretreated ...

Analysis of Traub’s Method for Cubic Polynomials

open access: yesAxioms
The dynamical analysis of Kurchatov’s scheme is extended to Traub’s method. The difference here is that Traub’s method requires two additional starting points. Therefore, the map is three-dimensional instead of 2-D.

Three-Step Derivative-Free Method of Order Six

open access: yesFoundations, 2023
Derivative-free iterative methods are useful to approximate the numerical solutions when the given function lacks explicit derivative information or when the derivatives are too expensive to compute.

Derivative Dispersion Relations

open access: yes, 2004
We discuss some analytical and numerical aspects related to the replacement of integral dispersion relations by derivative relations and also the practical applicability of the derivative approach in the investigation of high-energy elastic hadron-hadron
