Derivative Expansion of the Effective Action [PDF]
This paper describes some methods for calculating derivative terms in the one loop effective action for a quantum field theory. The functional approach and background field method are first used to derive the general form of the one loop determinant. Then the determinant is expanded in powers of derivatives of the background fields.

Comparative study of Oblique action in Iranian, French, and Egyptian law, focusing on Iranian law [PDF]
Oblique action is an exception to the principle of the relative effect of the contract, which permits unsecured creditors or collateralized creditors whose collateral is not worth as much as their claim, under certain conditions, to interfere with the ...

Making the PI and PID Controller Tuning Inspired by Ziegler and Nichols Precise and Reliable
This paper deals with the design of a DC motor speed control implemented by an embedded controller. The design is simple and brings some important changes to the traditional Ziegler–Nichols tuning.

Delay Equivalences in Tuning PID Control for the Double Integrator Plus Dead-Time
The paper investigates and explains a new simple analytical tuning of proportional-integrative-derivative (PID) controllers. In combination with nth order series binomial low-pass filters, they are to be applied to the double-integrator-plus-dead-time ...

Parametrization and Optimal Tuning of Constrained Series PIDA Controller for IPDT Models
The new modular approach to constrained control of higher-order processes with dominant first-order dynamics using generalized controllers with automatic resets (ARCs) is addressed. The controller design is based on the multiple real dominant pole (MRDP)

Robust Stability Analysis of Filtered PI and PID Controllers for IPDT Processes
The paper discusses the stability and robustness of the proportional-integral (PI), proportional-integral-derivative (PID), and proportional-integral-derivative-accelerative (PIDA) controller for the integral-plus-dead-time (IPDT) plants.

Four-derivative corrections to minimal gauged supergravity in five dimensions
We study four-derivative corrections to pure N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2, D = 5 gauged supergravity. In particular, we find that, up to field redefinitions, there is a single four-derivative superinvariant that one can add to the action, up to factors of the

Equivalence of JT gravity and near-extremal black hole dynamics in higher derivative theory
Two derivative Jackiw-Teitelboim (JT) gravity theory captures the near-horizon dynamics of higher dimensional near-extremal black holes, which is governed by a Schwarzian action at the boundary in the near-horizon region.

Derivative corrections to the Heisenberg-Euler effective action
We show that the leading derivative corrections to the Heisenberg-Euler effective action can be determined efficiently from the vacuum polarization tensor evaluated in a homogeneous constant background field.
