Systematic review of venous thromboembolism risk categories derived from Caprini scores.

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders, 2022
OBJECTIVE Hospital-acquired venous thromboembolism (VTE, including pulmonary embolism (PE) and deep vein thrombosis (DVT)) is a preventable cause of hospital death.

Engineering Students' Thinking About Technical Systems: An Ontological Categories Approach

open access: yesFrontiers in Education, 2020
This paper aims at identifying ontological categories as higher-order knowledge structures that underlie engineering students' thinking about technical systems.

Derived categories of quasi-hereditary algebras and their derived composition series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We study composition series of derived module categories in the sense of Angeleri H\"ugel, K\"onig&Liu for quasi-hereditary algebras. More precisely, we show that having a composition series with all factors being derived categories of vector spaces does

Derived categories of BHK mirrors [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 2016
We prove a derived analogue to the results of Borisov, Clarke, Kelly, and Shoemaker on the birationality of Berglund-Hubsch-Krawitz mirrors. Heavily bootstrapping off work of Seidel and Sheridan, we obtain Homological Mirror Symmetry for Berglund-Hubsch ...

Derived Categories and the Analytic Approach to General Reciprocity Laws—Part II

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2007
Building on the topological foundations constructed in Part I, we now go on to address the homological algebra preparatory to the projected final arithmetical phase of our attack on the analytic proof of general reciprocity for a number field.

Derived Categories of Coherent Sheaves and Triangulated Categories of Singularities

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we establish an equivalence between the category of graded D-branes of type B in Landau-Ginzburg models with homogeneous superpotential W and the triangulated category of singularities of the fiber of W over zero.

Generically Trivial Derived Categories [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Algebra, 2015
We study generic objects in triangulated categories and characterize the finite dimensional algebras $A$ such that the derived categories $D(\Mod A)$ are generically trivial. This is an analogue of a result of Crawley-Boevey for module categories. As a consequence, we show that $D(\Mod A)$ is generically trivial if and only if the category of perfect ...

The bounded derived categories of an algebra with radical squared zero [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Let $\La$ be an elementary locally bounded linear category over a field with radical squared zero. We shall show that the bounded derived category $D^b(\ModbLa)$ of finitely supported left $\La$-modules admits a Galois covering which is the bounded ...

Flops and derived categories [PDF]

open access: yesInventiones Mathematicae, 2002
This paper contains some applications of Fourier-Mukai techniques to the birational geometry of threefolds. In particular, we prove that birational Calabi-Yau threefolds have equivalent derived categories. To do this we show how flops arise naturally as moduli spaces of perverse coherent sheaves.

Bounded derived categories of very simple manifolds

open access: yes, 2010
An unrepresentable cohomological functor of finite type of the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves of a compact complex manifold of dimension greater than one with no proper closed subvariety is given explicitly in categorical terms.
