Early Detection of Lower Adherence to Long‐Term e‐Diary Recording: A Checkpoint to Target Early Educational Intervention in Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis?

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Allergy, EarlyView.
Adherence to e‐Diary reporting was investigated in a blended care setting among pollen allergic patients with heterogeneous cultural backgrounds. A stable ‘higher’ and a more variable ‘lower’ adherence cluster were identified. Early identification of lower adherence is possible and might inform early interventions to improve patient adherence. Clinical Factors Associated With Current Relevance in Allergic Contact Dermatitis: Development of Predictive Models Based on Data From the Spanish Contact Dermatitis Register (REIDAC)

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, EarlyView.
This study has shown a moderate performance of the regression model to predict current relevance (AUC = 0.679), although modelling performance has been better for specific allergens (e.g., nickel with an AUC = 0.770). Furthermore, it has identified key predictors, including female gender, specific involved sites (hands, neck, head, legs, feet), and ...

Formaldehyde Emissions From 2‐Octyl Cyanoacrylate: Quantified Risk for Allergic Contact Dermatitis

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, EarlyView.
This study found that 2‐octyl cyanoacrylate skin adhesives release formaldehyde at levels up to 8.4× above EPA dermal thresholds and up to 2.41× above NIOSH airborne limits, producing exposures sufficient to provoke allergic and irritant contact dermatitis in patients.

Impact of Allergic Contact Dermatitis on Health‐Related Quality of Life: A Cross‐Sectional Case–Control Study in a Spanish Population

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, EarlyView.
Allergic contact dermatitis markedly impairs quality of life (QoL) across symptoms, functioning and emotional domains. Using DLQI, Skindex‐29 and EQ‐5D‐5L, our study demonstrates a substantial multidimensional burden and highlights the need for routine, patient‐centred QoL assessment in clinical management.

Patch Testing in Individuals With Diabetes Using Medical Devices. Part 1—Contact Allergy to Baseline Series Allergens

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, EarlyView.
The contact allergy prevalence in individuals with diabetes and in diabetes medical device (MD) users is unknown. This study in 204 diabetes MD users (114 with rash to diabetes MDs, 90 without) aimed at investigating the contact allergy prevalence to baseline series allergens. Contact allergies to sesquiterpene lactone mix and myroxylon pereirae resin (
