Multiplex LAMP assay for detecting the prevalent species of dust mites Dermatophagoides farinae and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus in the domestic environment

open access: yesScientific Reports
Dermatophagoides farina (D. farinae) and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (D. pteronyssinus) are the prevalent kinds of house dust mites (HDMs). HDMs are common inhalant allergens that cause a range of allergic diseases, such as rhinitis, atopic dermatitis,

Ácaros em poeira domiciliar das capitais brasileiras e ilha Fernando de Noronha

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 1986

CCR2/CCR5 Signaling Defines a Pathogenic Interstitial Macrophage Subset That Drives Severe Asthma

open access: yesClinical and Translational Allergy, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
In mouse model of severe asthma, protective resident alveolar macrophages are depleted and replaced by monocyte‐derived populations, particularly a Lyve1loMHCIIhi interstitial macrophage subset enriched for Ccr2/Ccr5 and inflammatory gene programs. Blocking this subset with a dual CCR2/CCR5 antagonist reduces airway inflammation, restores homeostasis ...

Asthma and Lung Function in School‐Aged Children After Severe RSV‐A and RSV‐B Bronchiolitis, Is There Any Difference?

open access: yesPediatric Pulmonology, Volume 61, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) is a major cause of respiratory disease. It is classified into two antigenic subgroups. While several authors have studied the potential link between HRSV infection and later development of recurrent wheezing (RW) or asthma, no previous studies have assessed the role of HRSV subtypes.

Recurrent Asthma Exacerbations Secondary to Gastric Stenosis After Gastric Band Slippage: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
We present a patient with long‐standing severe Type 2 asthma complicated by recurrent exacerbations of an infective nature that was ultimately found to be associated with gastric band slippage causing gastric stenosis and delayed gastric emptying. Exacerbations ceased after surgical intervention and removal of the band.

Exposome‐driven molecular sensitization signatures in pediatric rhinitis and asthma across Spanish regions

open access: yesPediatric Allergy and Immunology, Volume 37, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Background Allergic rhinitis and asthma in childhood arise from dynamic interactions between genetic predisposition and the exposome. However, how environmental heterogeneity shapes molecular IgE sensitization profiles during early life remains insufficiently characterized.

PCR Detection of the 14.5 Antibacterial NlpC/P60-Like Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus Protein in Dermatophagoides farinae (Acari: Pyroglyphidae).

open access: yes, 2013
House dust mites produce antibacterial proteins suppressing bacterial growth. The 14.5-kDa bacteriolytic protein (UniProtKB Q8MWR6) has been known in Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus.
