Clues in DeRmoscopy: Dermoscopy of keratoacanthoma
European Journal of Dermatology, 2016A 33-year-old woman presented with a one-month history of a rapidly growing, solitary lesion on her right cheek. Examination revealed a 1-cm erythematous nodule, with a central keratin plug, covered with crusts and blood spots, highly suspicious of a keratoacanthoma (KA).

Main clinical differential diagnoses included Reed ne-vus, hyperpigmented Clark nevus (black nevus) andmelanoma. Dermoscopic analysis revealed a promi-nent, gray-blue to black central pigmentation with arim of large gray-brown to black globules and radialstreaks, regularly distributed at the periphery of the le-sion (Figure 3).
