Does Continuous Disclosure Improve Investment Efficiency? Evidence from a Unique Regulatory Setting

open access: yesAbacus, EarlyView.
We examine the association between continuous disclosure and investment efficiency within the context of Australia's unique regulatory setting for continuous disclosure. Based on 8,527 firm‐year observations, we find that continuous disclosure is positively associated with investment efficiency and helps to mitigate both over‐investment and under ...

Reconsidering the role of introduced species in the climate‐affected and highly invaded eastern Mediterranean

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Bioinvasions are considered mostly as a biodiversity and conservation hazard, but in specific situations, introduced species can bring ecological or socioeconomic benefits. We assessed the social–ecological role of marine introduced species in the eastern Mediterranean Sea—a global hotspot of bioinvasions and extirpations—and their potential ...

Green Refrontierisation: Critical Cartographies of the Hydrogen Rush in Africa

open access: yesTransactions of the Institute of British Geographers, EarlyView.
Short Abstract This article provides a critical cartographic analysis of the green hydrogen (GH2) maps present within the reports of European states, lobby groups and investment bodies to examine the role of geographical knowledge in the production of low‐carbon energy frontiers. It identifies three spatio‐political strategies present within these maps

Advances in Floating Solar Desalination Systems

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, EarlyView.
This review critically classifies floating solar desalination systems into five main categories and compares their thermal performance, productivity and technological limitations. Membrane‐based and multieffect systems showed the highest efficiencies, while traditional designs remain limited by heat losses and scaling.
