Approaches to information-seeking behaviour in psychology: a comparison of early and contemporary studies

open access: yesInformation Research: An International Electronic Journal
Introduction.  The aim of this paper is to explore the investigation of information-seeking behaviour in the literature of psychology, with special reference to the period before 1981, when the term was introduced into information science, and compare ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Results in descriptive set theory on some represented spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Descriptive set theory was originally developed on Polish spaces. It was later extended to ω-continuous domains [Selivanov 2004] and recently to quasi-Polish spaces [de Brecht 2013]. All these spaces are countably-based.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Integrative-Interconnective Approach In Sets: A Teaching Material Development for Enhancing Students' Conceptual Understanding

open access: yesJournal for Lesson and Learning Studies
The low level of student understanding and the limited teaching materials that can link set theory with Islamic values are one of the main obstacles in mathematics learning at the madrasah level. This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Three Topics in Descriptive Set Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This dissertation deals with three topics in descriptive set theory. First, the order topology is a natural topology on ordinals. In Chapter 2, a complete classification of order topologies on ordinals up to Borel isomorphism is given, answering a ...
