Is ‘Desensitization’ for Ragweed Hay Fever Immunologically Specific?
International Archives of Allergy and Immunology, 1972Cell reactivity (the peak percentage release of histamine) to ragweed antigen E and timothy pollen extract was studied in the leukocytes of children chosen for clinical ragweed sensitivity and treated with that antigen. At the beginning of therapy all children had responded to antigen E with >50% histamine release.

Insulin allergy. Clinical and immunological effects of specific desensitization
Acta Diabetologica Latina, 1969Five patients with insulin allergy were desensitized with porcine insulin according to the method of Urbach and Gotlieb. The diagnosis of insulin allergy was based on clinical manifestations, positive skin tests, and, moreover, on positive Prausnitz-Kustner (P.K.) reactions in 2 cases. Successful desensitization was obtained in 3 cases.
