Desiccant cooling systems: a review [PDF]
Desiccant cooling systems have been considered as an efficient method of controlling moisture content in supply air. They do not use any ozone-depleting coolants and consume less energy as compared with the vapour compression systems. This communication provides an extensive review of liquid desiccant systems (LDSs).

An assessment of desiccant cooling and dehumidification technology [PDF]
Desiccant systems are heat-actuated cooling and dehumidification technology. With the recent advances in this technology, desiccant systems can now achieve a primary energy coefficient of performance (COP) between 1.3 and 1.5, with potential to go to 1.7 and higher.

Desiccant cooling is a technology that, based on a open psychrometric cycle, is able to provide cooling using heat as the main energy carrier. This technology uses a considerably smaller amount of electricity than refrigerators based on the vapor-compression cycle, which is an electricity driven cycle.

Effect of operating conditions on performance of silica gel-water air-fluidised desiccant cooler
Fluidised desiccant cooling is reported in the literature as an efficient way to provide cooling for air-conditioning purposes. The performance of this technology can be described by electric and thermal Coefficients of Performance (COP) and Specific ...

A Mathematical Model of Desiccant Wheel in Desiccant Cooling
The desiccant wheel performance of desiccant cooling system components is very important whose function is to regulate air humidity levels as well as to the capability, size and cost of the entire system. Mathematical models for predicting the performance of desiccant wheels in the development of mathematical models is one of the effective methods for ...
