Physisorption of molecular oxygen on single-wall carbon nanotube bundles and graphite

open access: yes, 2002
We present a study on the kinetics of oxygen adsorption and desorption from single-wall carbon nanotube (SWNT) and highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) samples. Thermal desorption spectra for SWNT samples show a broad desorption feature peaked at 62

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Sorption and fractionation of dissolved organic matter and associated phosphorus in agricultural soil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Molibility of dissolved organic matter (DOM) strongly affects the export of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) from oils to surface waters. To study the sorption an mobility of dissolved organic C and P (DOC, DOP) in soil, the pH-dependent sorption of DOM ...

Copper Doping Enhances the Activity and Selectivity of Atomically Precise Ag44 Nanoclusters for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By a simple anti‐Galvanic reaction, up to six copper atoms could be preferably doped into the Ag2(SR)5 staple motifs and Ag20 dodecahedral shell of an atomically precise Ag44(SR)30 nanocluster. When anatase TiO2 is used as substrate, the (AgCu)44/TiO2 photocatalyst exhibited much improved activity in photocatalytic CO2 reduction compared to Ag44/TiO2 ...

Experiments on Quantum and Thermal Desorption from ^4He Films [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
Desorption of He atoms from thin films may be resolved experimentally into quantum and thermal components. We show that quantum desorption becomes the dominant part of the signal in submonolayer films.

Scanning or desorption isotherms? Characterising sorption hysteresis of wood

open access: yesCellulose, 2018
Sorption isotherms describe the relation between the equilibrium moisture content of a material and the ambient relative humidity. Most materials exhibits sorption hysteresis, that is, desorption give higher equilibrium moisture contents than absorption ...

Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Investigation into moisture desorption in concrete constructions

open access: yesEngineering Structures and Technologies, 2011
The article investigates the moisture desorption of concrete constructions. Three concrete mixtures with different V/C ratio were tested. In one of the mixtures, a plasticizer was used. The test revealed changes in bulk humidity and weight.

Interaction of Atomic and Molecular Hydrogen with Tholin Surfaces at Low Temperatures

open access: yes, 2010
We study the interaction of atomic and molecular hydrogen with a surface of tholin, a man-made polymer considered to be an analogue of aerosol particles present in Titan's atmosphere, using thermal programmed desorption at low temperatures below 30 K ...

Applying laboratory thermal desorption data in an interstellar context: sublimation of methanol thin films [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Methods by which experimental measurements of thermal desorption can be applied in astrophysical environments have been developed, using the sublimation of solid methanol as an example.
