Engineering Porous Hollow Metal‐Poly(Heptazine Imide) Spheres: An Optimized Synthetic Strategy for Controlling Surface, Morphology, and Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hollow poly(heptazine imide) spheres are prepared through a novel approach that integrates hard templating with ionothermal synthesis. This method enables precise control over surface area, pore volume, hydrophilicity, light absorption, band position, and metal composition. These tunable properties facilitate the customized design of semiconductors for

Non Thermal‐Driven Photocatalytic Ammonia Decomposition at Near‐Room Temperature on a Plasmonic Nanocone Array

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic photocatalytic ammonia decomposition occurs at near‐room temperature on a plasmonic Au nanocone array under visible light illumination. The nanostructure efficiently harnesses plasmonic modes, leading to increased reaction rates upon plasmon decay.

Desorption Behaviors and Adsorption Behaviors after Desorption of Trivalent Metal Ions Adsorbed on Chelating Resin: Comparison between Scandium(III) and Other Metal Ions

open access: yesJournal of MMIJ
Scandium (Sc) generally lacks independent deposits and is mainly recovered as a by-product of the smelting of other ores. Scandium is present in laterite ores in concentrations ranging from tens to hundreds of ppm.

Kinetics of the non-isothermal desorption of ethanol absorbed onto CMS-3A / Неизотермическая кинетика десорбции этанола, абсорбированного на углеродном молекулярном сите CMS-3А / Neizotermna kinetika desorpcije etanola adsorbovanog na ugljeničnom molekulskom situ CMS-3A

open access: yesVojnotehnički Glasnik, 2017
The kinetics of the desorption of ethanol previously absorbed onto carbon molecular sieves (CMS-3A) was studied using the non-isothermal thermogravimetric technique.

Composition and Resulting Band Alignment at the TiO2/InP Heterointerface: A Fundamental Study Combining Photoemission Spectroscopy and Theory

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The chemical composition and band alignment are systematically investigated at the TiO2/InP heterointerface. Thin TiO2 films are deposited by ALD on atomically ordered, P‐terminated p‐InP(100). By combining UPS, XPS, and ab initio molecular dynamics, the atomistic structure and electronic alignment are revealed.

Efficient Separation of Levulinic Acid Using Fly Ash from Sugar Beet Processing [PDF]

open access: yesChemical and Biochemical Engineering Quarterly
Levulinic acid (LA) is a significant building block in industry. It can be produced by the hydrolysis of lignocellulosic feedstocks and needs to be separated from the aqueous production medium.

Long-Time Non-Debye Kinetics of Molecular Desorption from Substrates with Frozen Disorder

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
The experiments on the kinetics of molecular desorption from structurally disordered adsorbents clearly demonstrate its non-Debye behavior at “long” times.

Characterization of the UK anthrax vaccine and human immunogenicity

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2021
The manufacture of the UK Anthrax vaccine (AVP) focuses on the production of Protective Antigen (PA) from the Bacillus anthracis Sterne strain. Although used for decades, several of AVP’s fundamental properties are poorly understood, including its exact ...

Field desorption ion source development for neutron generators

open access: yes, 2008
A new approach to deuterium ion sources for deuterium-tritium neutron generators is being developed. The source is based upon the field desorption of deuterium from the surfaces of metal tips. Field desorption studies of microfabricated field emitter tip
