Detailed mapping of ascorbate distribution in rat brain
Neuroscience Letters, 1982Abstract Since only limited data were available on the distribution of ascorbic acid in rat brain, a detailed mapping was undertaken using a slice and semi-micro punching technique. The study provides new data on a number of rat brain regions; the most significant finding is that there are very marked gradients of ascorbate concentrations throughout ...

Detailed balance in mixed quantum–classical mapping approaches
The violation of detailed balance poses a serious problem for the majority of current quasiclassical methods for simulating nonadiabatic dynamics. In order to analyze the severity of the problem, we predict the long-time limits of the electronic populations according to various quasiclassical mapping approaches by applying arguments from classical ...

Recovering Geometric Detail by Octree Normal Maps
2012This paper presents a new approach for constructing normal maps that capture high-frequency geometric detail from dense models of arbitrary topology and are applied to the simplified version of the same models generated by any simplification method to mimic the same level of detail.

Spatial gamut mapping for preserving the details of an image
SPIE Proceedings, 2012The spatial gamut-mapping algorithm (SGMA) overcomes the drawbacks of the widely used color-by-color methods. Spatial gamut mapping can preserve detailed information in original images by performing adaptive gamut mapping in surrounding pixels within the image. However, spatial gamut mapping can result in hue shift and the halo effect.

Retention of Detail in Map Generalization
1964Abstract : The Military Evaluation of Geographic Areas project (MEGA), U. S. Army Materiel Command Project No. 1-T-25001-A-131, has as one of its objectives the description of terrain factors in terms of their effects on military activities. Presentation of terrain-effect data in the form of tactical maps is considered to be one of the essential ...

Learning intensity and detail mapping parameters for dehazing
Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2017State-of-the-art methods for removing haze from a single image rely on a haze image formation model and the inversion problem is solved by estimating medium transmission and global atmospheric light. In this paper, we propose a hazy image enhancement framework, called Intensity Mapping and Detail Mapping(IMDM), for dehazing, which can strike a good ...
