Accuracy prediction for pedestrian detection

2017 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2017
In this paper, we address the problem of predicting accuracy for pedestrian detection. We want to be able to predict the accuracy of a video analytic method without actually executing the method. We propose the use of texture descriptors and random forests to predict the accuracy of various pedestrian detection methods.

Detection accuracy in chest radiography

American Journal of Roentgenology, 1978
The detection accuracy of the diagnostic radiologist is important in everyday medical decision making. However, little work has been done relating the detection accuracy of the radiologist to the quality of the image. This study, using a thorax and lung phantom, simulated tissue-equivalent 6.4 mm lesions, and a 183 cm source-to-image distance, shows ...

Learn to Detect: Improving the Accuracy of Earthquake Detection

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2019
Earthquake early warning system uses high-speed computer network to transmit earthquake information to population center ahead of the arrival of destructive earthquake waves. This short (10 s of seconds) lead time will allow emergency responses such as turning off gas pipeline valves to be activated to mitigate potential disaster and casualties ...

Accuracy of Techniques to Detect Intraperitoneal Abscess

Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1979
Three new diagnostic techniques, gray-scale ultrasonography, gallium-67 scanning (67Ga), and computed tomography (CT) were used in combination to detect intraperitoneal abscess in 30 patients. All 30 had sonography, 24 were scanned for 67Ga, and 15 underwent CT. Nine had three tests and 21 had two.

Outlier detection by sampling with accuracy guarantees

Proceedings of the 12th ACM SIGKDD international conference on Knowledge discovery and data mining, 2006
An effective approach to detecting anomalous points in a data set is distance-based outlier detection. This paper describes a simple sampling algorithm to effciently detect distance-based outliers in domains where each and every distance computation is very expensive.

The accuracy of ultrasound in the detection of cirrhosis of the liver

The British Journal of Radiology, 1979
The association of high amplitude echoes returned from the liver and cirrhosis is well recognized. There have been no reports in the literature as to the overall incidence of this finding in the clinical situation. We report our experience in a series of 67 patients with proven cirrhosis who had liver biopsy and an ultrasound examination within three ...
