The Accuracy-Confidence Correlation in the Detection of Deception

Personality and Social Psychology Review, 1997
A meta-analysis was conducted of research on the relation between judges' accuracy at detecting deception and their confidence in their judgments. A total of 18 independent samples revealed an average weighted accuracy-confidence correlation of .04, a relation not significantly different from zero.

Accuracy of colonoscopy for the detection of colorectal polyps

Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, 1992
The findings at colonoscopy were compared with the pathologic findings of the surgical specimen in 235 patients who underwent a colon resection for a primary colorectal neoplasm from January 1980 to December 1987 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Seven patients (3 percent) were found to have synchronous primary colon carcinomas, and 100 patients (43 ...

Improving the Accuracy of Arctan for Face Detection

2017 IEEE 25th Annual International Symposium on Field-Programmable Custom Computing Machines (FCCM), 2017
Significant barriers to real time face detection have been the complexity of computation kernels, minimal costand superior accuracy requirements for both software and hardware implementation based on traditional high performance computing. It is desirable to develop variable precision face detection block for high dynamic range applications including ...

Evaluation of Accuracy in Design Pattern Occurrence Detection

IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, 2010
Detection of design pattern occurrences is part of several solutions to software engineering problems, and high accuracy of detection is important to help solve the actual problems. The improvement in accuracy of design pattern occurrence detection requires some way of evaluating various approaches.

Accuracy analysis for facial feature detection

Pattern Recognition, 1996
Abstract The accuracy of feature-based human face recognition is inherently dependent upon the correctness of the identification of the facial features. However, the extent and details of this dependence are not known. in this paper, we attempt to develop a basic methodology that can be used to discover how sensitive the recognition process is to ...

Accuracy of the StressEraser® in the Detection of Cardiac Rhythms

Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, 2008
StressEraser is a commercially marketed biofeedback device designed to enhance heart rate variability. StressEraser makes its internal calculations on beat-to-beat measures of finger pulse intervals. However, the accuracy and precision of StressEraser in quantifying interbeat intervals using finger pulse intervals has not been evaluated against ...

The malware detection challenge of accuracy

2016 2nd International Conference on Open Source Software Computing (OSSCOM), 2016
Real time Malware detection is still a big challenge; although considerable research showed advances of design and build systems that can automatically predicate the maliciousness of specific file, program, or website, Malware is continuously growing in terms of numbers and maliciousness.
