Estimating the resolution limit of the map equation in community detection

open access: yes, 2015
A community detection algorithm is considered to have a resolution limit if the scale of the smallest modules that can be resolved depends on the size of the analyzed subnetwork.

Charge Detection in a Closed-Loop Aharonov-Bohm Interferometer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We report on a study of complementarity in a two-terminal "closed-loop" Aharonov-Bohm interferometer. In this interferometer, the simple picture of two-path interference cannot be applied.

Approaching the Heisenberg limit without single-particle detection

open access: yes, 2016
We propose an approach to quantum phase estimation that can attain precision near the Heisenberg limit without requiring single-particle-resolved state detection.

Detailed kinship estimation for detecting bias among breeding families in a reintroduced population of the endangered bagrid catfish Tachysurus ichikawai

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, Volume 67, Issue 2, Page 109-124, April 2025.
In the process of captive breeding and reintroduction of endangered animal species, it is crucial to minimize familial bias in reproductive success during the reintroduction phase to preserve genetic diversity. In this study, we attempted to identify the familial lineage of individuals of the endangered bagrid fish Tachysurus ichikawai born at the ...

Facile synthesized carbon dots for simple and selective detection of cobalt ions in aqueous media

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2022
A simple method was demonstrated for detecting cobalt ions based on the fluorescence quenching of carbon dots (CDots). The best quantum yield for CDots synthesized by microwaving lime and methanolamine is 49.42%. The detection range of this research is 0–

The Role of UAV-IoT Networks in Future Wildfire Detection [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The challenge of wildfire management and detection is recently gaining increased attention due to the increased severity and frequency of wildfires worldwide. Popular fire detection techniques such as satellite imaging and remote camera-based sensing suffer from late detection and low reliability while early wildfire detection is a key to prevent ...

AGAD: Adversarial Generative Anomaly Detection [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Anomaly detection suffered from the lack of anomalies due to the diversity of abnormalities and the difficulties of obtaining large-scale anomaly data. Semi-supervised anomaly detection methods are often used to solely leverage normal data to detect abnormalities that deviated from the learnt normality distributions.

Optimal SNP filtering strategies for pedigree reconstruction: A case study with wild red‐spotted masu salmon population

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, Volume 67, Issue 2, Page 125-139, April 2025.
In this article, we tested optimal SNP filtering strategies for accurate parentage assignment and pedigree reconstruction for a wild population of red‐spotted masu salmon, Oncorhynchus masou ishikawae. We found that mid‐point filtering in terms of call rate and minor allele frequency performs well for pedigree reconstruction.
