AGAD: Adversarial Generative Anomaly Detection [PDF]
Anomaly detection suffered from the lack of anomalies due to the diversity of abnormalities and the difficulties of obtaining large-scale anomaly data. Semi-supervised anomaly detection methods are often used to solely leverage normal data to detect abnormalities that deviated from the learnt normality distributions.

Optimum Small Optical Beam Displacement Measurement
We derive the quantum noise limit for the optical beam displacement of a TEM00 mode. Using a multimodal analysis, we show that the conventional split detection scheme for measuring beam displacement is non-optimal with 80% efficiency.

Calibration of a single atom detector for atomic micro chips [PDF]
We experimentally investigate a scheme for detecting single atoms magnetically trapped on an atom chip. The detector is based on the photoionization of atoms and the subsequent detection of the generated ions.

Batch Fabrication of Ultrasensitive Carbon Nanotube Hydrogen Sensors with Sub-ppm Detection Limit.
Carbon nanotube (CNT) has been considered as an ideal channel material for building highly sensitive gas sensors. However, the reported H2 sensors based on CNT always suffered from the low sensitivity or low production.

Limit on the Detectability of the Energy Scale of Inflation [PDF]
We show that the polarization of the cosmic microwave background can be used to detect gravity waves from inflation if the energy scale of inflation is above 3.2 times 10^15 GeV. These gravity waves generate polarization patterns with a curl, whereas (to first order in perturbation theory) density perturbations do not.

In this article, we tested optimal SNP filtering strategies for accurate parentage assignment and pedigree reconstruction for a wild population of red‐spotted masu salmon, Oncorhynchus masou ishikawae. We found that mid‐point filtering in terms of call rate and minor allele frequency performs well for pedigree reconstruction.

Quantum nonlocality with arbitrary limited detection efficiency [PDF]
The demonstration and use of nonlocality, as defined by Bell's theorem, rely strongly on dealing with non-detection events due to losses and detector inefficiencies. Otherwise, the so-called detection loophole could be exploited. The only way to avoid this is to have detection efficiencies that are above a certain threshold.

Mixed models for longitudinal left-censored repeated measures
Longitudinal studies could be complicated by left-censored repeated measures. For example, in Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection, there is a detection limit of the assay used to quantify the plasma viral load.

Optimal multi-photon phase sensing with a single interference fringe [PDF]
Quantum entanglement can help to increase the precision of optical phase measurements beyond the shot noise limit (SNL) to the ultimate Heisenberg limit. However, the N-photon parity measurements required to achieve this optimal sensitivity are extremely
