Crystallization Engineering of GaAs/Sb2S3 Core‐Shell Nanowires for Gain Manipulation of Photodetectors

open access: yesRare Metals, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Photodetectors, based on GaAs nanowires (NWs), hold significant promise in the fields of high integration micro‐ and nano‐optoelectronics applications because of their outstanding electronic and optical properties. To date, significant efforts have been directed toward enhancing the performance of photodetectors, aiming for high detectivity ...

Novel Non‐Equimolar High‐Entropy Zirconates With Superior Thermophysical Properties

open access: yesRare Metals, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rare‐earth zirconates (RE2Zr2O7) are promising candidates for topcoat materials in thermal barrier coatings (TBCs). However, their practical application in TBCs is limited by poor fracture toughness and low thermal expansion coefficient (TEC).

Colloidal Quasi‐2D Cs2AgBiBr6 Double Perovskite Nanosheets: Synthesis and Application as High‐Performance Photodetectors

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Layered quasi‐2D Cs2AgBiBr6 nanosheets, with large lateral dimensions of up to 1.4 µm, which are only a few nanometers thick, were synthesized as a result of systematic investigation of the roles of ligands and reaction temperature. The nanosheets were used to develop high‐performance photodetectors, yielding detectivity in the order of 1012 Jones with

High‐Yield Assembly of Plasmon‐Coupled Nanodiamonds Using DNA Origami for Tuned Emission

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
Engineering assemblies of single‐photon emitters and plasmonic elements with nanometer precision opens pathways for quantum sensing and photonics applications. A surface functionalization strategy is established for grafting DNA onto nanodiamonds, and their placement on DNA origami is optimized to achieve yields above 50%.

Universal Fabrication of Graphene/Perovskite Oxide Hybrid Heterostructures

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
This study presents a universal, catalyst‐free method for the direct growth of monolayer graphene on perovskite oxides without the need for transfer. The process yielded uniform graphene formation across different insulating substrates under identical conditions, revealing a substrate‐independent growth mechanism.

Nanostructuring Copper Tungstate Photoanodes: Performance Enhancement and Fundamental Limitations

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
Nanostructuring of CuWO4 photoanodes yields a ~ tenfold photocurrent enhancement compared to dense films, reaching 0.6 mA cm−2 at 1.23 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode, among the best values reported for this material. Yet, performance remains far below the theoretical limit due to severe bulk recombination and poor electron transport ...

Effect of stirrup spacing on strengthening beams with insufficient shear capacity using innovative mechanical steel stitches

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates experimentally and analytically the effect of stirrup spacing variation on the behavior of reinforced beams in the 45°‐inclined innovative mechanical steel stitches (MSSs) application for the strengthening of reinforced concrete beams with insufficient shear capacity.
