Quantum properties of a which-way detector [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica Scripta, 2015
We explore quantum properties of a which-way detector using three versions of an idealized two slit arrangements. Firstly we derive complementarity relations for the detector; secondly we show how the "experiment" may be altered in such a way that using single position measurement on the screen we can obtain quantum erasure.

Quantum detector tomography of a time-multiplexed superconducting nanowire single-photon detector at telecom wavelengths [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SNSPDs) are widely used in telecom wavelength optical quantum information science applications. Quantum detector tomography allows the positive-operator-valued measure (POVM) of a single-photon detector ...

Charged-particle multiplicities in pp interactions at measured with the ATLAS detector at the LHC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The first measurements from proton–proton collisions recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC are presented. Data were collected in December 2009 using a minimum-bias trigger during collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 900 GeV.

Absolute luminosity measurements with the LHCb detector at the LHC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Absolute luminosity measurements are of general interest for colliding-beam experiments at storage rings. These measurements are necessary to determine the absolute cross-sections of reaction processes and are valuable to quantify the performance of the ...

Measurement of the flavour composition of dijet events in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper describes a measurement of the flavour composition of dijet events produced in pp collisions at s√=7 TeV using the ATLAS detector. The measurement uses the full 2010 data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 39 pb−1.

Measurement of neutrino oscillation parameters from muon neutrino disappearance with an off-axis beam [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The T2K Collaboration reports a precision measurement of muon neutrino disappearance with an off-axis neutrino beam with a peak energy of 0.6 GeV. Near detector measurements are used to constrain the neutrino flux and cross section parameters.

High resolution muon tracking with resistive plate chambers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Following their introduction in the physics community in the early '80s the use of Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) as charged particles detectors has constantly increased. Low cost per unit area, good time resolution and easy of operation are some of the

A Measurement of Jet Shapes in Proton-Proton Collisions at 7.0 TeV Center-of-Mass Energy with the ATLAS Detector at the Large Hadron Collider [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A study of jet shapes is presented using 300 nb−1 of proton-proton collision data collected at a center of mass energy of 7 TeV using the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider.
