Haptic In‐Sensor Computing Device Based on CNT/PDMS Nanocomposite Physical Reservoir

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
Using a porous carbon nanotube‐polydimethylsiloxane nanocomposite, a sensor array integrated with a physical reservoir computing paradigm capable of in‐sensor computing is demonstrated. The device is able to classify between nine objects with an accuracy above 80%, opening the possibility for low‐power sensing/computing for future robotics.

Single‐Pump‐Actuated Transformable Dual‐Mode Gripper Based on Bistable and Origami Structures for Cross‐Scale Object Grasping

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Single‐pump‐actuated transformable dual‐mode gripper (SATDG) that combines vacuum suction and granular jamming to effectively grasp objects ranging from 10 to 300 mm in size, spanning a vast 30‐fold range, with forces from 0.5 to 21 N, is studied. Using a bistable mechanism and origami structure, the SATDG can transform between two modes and activate ...

Addressing Favorable and Challenging Flexible Plastic Packaging Waste Flows: A Material Flow Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Manufacturing and Processing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The majority of post‐consumer flexible plastic packaging (FPP) in the United States ends up in landfills and incinerators. This represents a significant material loss because FPP, also referred to as plastic films or foils, comprises up to half of all plastic packaging.

Bioprinting‐Assisted Tissue Assembly to Investigate Endothelial Cell Contributions in Cardiac Fibrosis and Focal Fibrosis Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
GA: Bioprinting‐assisted tissue assembly, a method for generating versatile and complex tissue constructs, is employed to investigate the contribution of endothelial cells (ECs) in cardiac fibrosis. ECs modulate fibrotic responses not only by preventing significant tissue stiffening and contractile impairment but also by exhibiting endothelial‐to ...
