ABSTRACT Self‐concept and self‐efficacy have received much attention from second/foreign language (L2) researchers. However, very few studies have empirically deciphered their similarities and distinctions. Even fewer have investigated how their contributions to L2 achievement vary across L2 proficiency levels.

The axiom of real determinacy and the axiom of real Blackwell determinacy
We show that the Axiom of Real Determinacy $\mathsf{AD}_{\mathbb{R}}$ and the Axiom of Real Blackwell Determinacy $\mathsf{Bl}\text{-}\mathsf{AD}_{\mathbb{R}}$ are equivalent in $\mathsf{ZF}$+$\mathsf{DC}$. This answers the question of Löwe [15, Question 53]. While we do not know whether they are equivalent in $\mathsf{ZF}$+$\mathsf{AC}_ω (\mathbb{R})$,

Psychometric Properties of Caregiver Contribution and Self‐Efficacy Scales in Cancer
ABSTRACT This study aimed to validate the Caregiver Contribution to Self‐Care of Chronic Illness Inventory (CC‐SC‐CII) and the Caregiver Self‐Efficacy in Contributing to Patient Self‐Care Scale (CSE‐CSC) in caregivers of patients with cancer. A multicenter, cross‐sectional validation study was conducted involving a convenience sample of caregivers ...

Determinacy in the Mitchell models
In recent years descriptive set theorists have had considerable success equating large cardinal hypotheses with levels of determinacy. This paper fine-tunes the theory by exhibiting upper bounds on the amount of determinacy possible in Mitchell's models, L(U).

Chromatin-mediated feed-forward auxin biosynthesis in floral meristem determinacy
In Arabidopsis, the AG and CRC transcription factors terminate floral stem cells and allow the emergence of female floral organs. Here the authors show that AG and CRC form a feed-forward loop that controls local auxin biosynthesis via induction of ...

Bad Practices: Unintended Consequences of Practice‐Based Theories of Reference
ABSTRACT Practice theories are a genus of causal theories of reference. They claim that the semantic referent of an utterance of a name is determined by features of a practice of using that name to speaker‐refer to, or coordinate actions around, a certain object.

Borel Determinacy of Concurrent Games [PDF]
Just as traditional games can be represented by trees, so concurrent games can be represented by event structures. We show the determinacy of such concurrent games with Borel sets of configurations as winning conditions, provided they are race-free and bounded-concurrent. Both properties are shown necessary.

A Flaw in Sider's Vagueness Argument for Perdurantism: Endurantism Endures
ABSTRACT Sider's vagueness argument for perdurantism (2001: 126ff.) has long been seen as one of the most powerful, or perhaps the most powerful, in the perdurantist's arsenal. In its absence, the case against endurantism is significantly weakened. Despite its age, there is still no generally agreed view on its worth.

Does Openness Amplify Money‐Financed Fiscal Stimulus? A Fiscal Theory Perspective
ABSTRACT Does economic openness enhance or diminish the effectiveness of money‐financed (MF) fiscal stimulus? This study re‐examines this question within a small open economy framework, emphasizing the fiscal regime governing government debt valuation. While the authors of an earlier study show that MF fiscal expansions generate larger output responses
