Quantum modal indeterminacy

open access: yesStudies in History and Philosophy of Science Part A, 2022
The paper investigates the existence and the nature of quantum indeterminacy in a particular realist interpretation of quantum mechanics, that is, the Modal Hamiltonian Interpretation (MHI)-together with an ontology of properties for quantum systems. In doing so, it serves a twofold purpose.

The Relativity of Indeterminacy

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
A long-standing tradition, largely present in both the physical and the philosophical literature, regards the advent of (special) relativity—with its block-universe picture—as the failure of any indeterministic program in physics. On the contrary, in this paper, we note that upholding reasonable principles of finiteness of information hints at a ...

On Indeterminacy of Interval Multiplicative Pairwise Comparison Matrix

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
The interval multiplicative pairwise comparison matrix (IMPCM) is widely used to model human judgments affected by uncertainty and/or ambiguity. To improve the quality of an IMPCM, consistency is not sufficient. The indeterminacy should also be within an

Repetitive sampling inspection plan for cancer patients using exponentiated half-logistic distribution under indeterminacy

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
This piece of work deals with a time truncated sampling scheme for cancer patients using exponentiated half-logistic distribution (EHLD) based on indeterminacy.

On the Indeterminacy of Determinacy and Indeterminacy [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2003
A number of authors have attempted to test whether the U.S. economy is in a determinate or an indeterminate equilibrium. We argue that to answer this question, one must impose a priori restrictions on lag length that cannot be tested. We provide examples of two economic models. Model 1 displays an indeterminate equilibrium, driven by sunspots.

Intergenerationality in the Light of Indeterminacy [PDF]

open access: yesIntegrative Psychological and Behavioral Science, 2022
This Special Issue aims to shed light on the undetermined nature of intergenerational trajectories. Indeterminacy has been suggested to the author as an avenue to tackle the dynamic aspect -which entails looking at tensions in an unfolding process- of intergenerationality.

Testing average traffic fatality using sampling plan for exponentiated half logistic distribution under indeterminacy

open access: yesScientific African, 2023
A time-truncated sampling plan for the exponentiated half logistic distribution under the indeterminacy is developed in the present investigation. The proposed design parameters are ascertained by fixing the indeterminacy parameter with the known shape ...

Neutrosophic Laplace Distribution with Application in Financial Data Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems, 2023
The Laplace distribution, also known as the double exponential distribution, is a continuous probability distribution that is often used for modelling the data having heavy tails.

Testing average wind speed using sampling plan for Weibull distribution under indeterminacy

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The time truncated plan for the Weibull distribution under the indeterminacy is presented. The plan parameters of the proposed plan are determined by fixing the indeterminacy parameter.

Indeterminacy and Forecastability [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, 2011
Recent studies document the deteriorating performance of forecasting models during the Great Moderation, which conversely implies that forecastability was higher in the preceding era when the economy was unexpectedly volatile. We explain this phenomenon in the context of equilibrium indeterminacy in dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models.
