The Relativity of Indeterminacy [PDF]
A long-standing tradition, largely present in both the physical and the philosophical literature, regards the advent of (special) relativity—with its block-universe picture—as the failure of any indeterministic program in physics. On the contrary, in this paper, we note that upholding reasonable principles of finiteness of information hints at a ...

Stochastic Trajectory Prediction via Motion Indeterminacy Diffusion [PDF]
Human behavior has the nature of indeterminacy, which requires the pedestrian trajectory prediction system to model the multi-modality of future motion states.

On the Indeterminacy of Determinacy and Indeterminacy [PDF]
A number of authors have attempted to test whether the U.S. economy is in a determinate or an indeterminate equilibrium. We argue that to answer this question, one must impose a priori restrictions on lag length that cannot be tested. We provide examples of two economic models. Model 1 displays an indeterminate equilibrium, driven by sunspots.

Indeterminacy in Neutrosophic Theories and their Applications
Indeterminacy makes the main distinction between fuzzy/intuitionistic fuzzy (and other extensions of fuzzy) set/logic vs. neutrosophic set/logic, and between classical probability and neutrosophic probability.

The indeterminacy of computation
Do the dynamics of a physical system determine what function the system computes? Except in special cases, the answer is no: it is often indeterminate what function a given physical system computes.

Both public health experts and medical anthropologists are concerned with how health is shaped by environmental forces. This creates an important cross‐disciplinary alliance, yet crucial differences in how the two disciplines tend to evaluate health ...

Visual Indeterminacy in GAN Art
This paper explores visual indeterminacy as a description for artwork created with Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs). Visual indeterminacy describes images that appear to depict real scenes, but on closer examination, defy coherent spatial ...

Indeterminacy and Forecastability [PDF]
Recent studies document the deteriorating performance of forecasting models during the Great Moderation, which conversely implies that forecastability was higher in the preceding era when the economy was unexpectedly volatile. We explain this phenomenon in the context of equilibrium indeterminacy in dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models.

Intergenerationality in the Light of Indeterminacy [PDF]
This Special Issue aims to shed light on the undetermined nature of intergenerational trajectories. Indeterminacy has been suggested to the author as an avenue to tackle the dynamic aspect -which entails looking at tensions in an unfolding process- of intergenerationality.
