Piecewise-deterministic Markov processes
Stochastic Analysis and Applications, 1993In this paper we construct and study a class of Markov processes whose sample paths are piecewise deterministic and whose random jumps can have limiting points in finite time intervals.

Real-valued Deterministic Processes
2015In science, one-dimensional deterministic (i.e., non-random) systems provide the simplest models for processes that evolve over time. Mathematically, these models take the form of one-dimensional difference or differential equations. This chapter presents the basic theory of Benford's law for them.

Stability of piecewise-deterministic Markov processes
Proceedings of the 38th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.99CH36304), 1999Summary: We study a form of stability for a general family of nondiffusion Markov processes known in the literature as piecewise-deterministic Markov processes (PDMP). By stability here we mean the existence of an invariant probability measure for the PDMP.

Deterministically Timed Process Algebra
2009Concurrent and distributed systems are characterized not only by their functional behavior, but also by their quantitative features. A prominent role is played by timing aspects, which express the temporal execution of system activities. There are several different options for introducing time and time passing in system descriptions: durationless ...

Deterministic processing for MIMO systems
2010 4th International Symposium on Communications, Control and Signal Processing (ISCCSP), 2010In this paper, we study a deterministic scheme in a Ricean fading single spatial stream based multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication system, which utilizes deterministic beamforming in the transmitter and deterministic combining at the receiver. The proposed method combines the existing deterministic transmit and receive processing schemes

Some Purely Deterministic Processes
2011The linear prediction problem as it arises in the case of stationary processes has attracted much attention. The problem has been studied most intensively when the prediction error is known to be positive. It is of some interest to consider a few simple situations in which the prediction error is zero, especially as a situation of this sort arises in ...

Piecewise Deterministic Markov Decision Processes
2011In this chapter we deal with optimization problems where the state process is a Piecewise Deterministic Markov Process. These processes evolve through random jumps at random time points while the behavior between jumps is governed by an ordinary differential equation. They form a general and important class of non-diffusions.
