Phylogenetic structure of aquatic plant assemblages in a climate sequence [PDF]

open access: yesRodriguésia, 2022
Floristic studies of aquatic plants and flora associated with aquatic ecosystems carried out in the Neotropical region have demonstrated the predominance and co-occurrence of the same plant families under different climatic conditions.

A Cointegrated Regime-Switching Model Approach with Jumps Applied to Natural Gas Futures Prices

open access: yesRisks, 2017
Energy commodities and their futures naturally show cointegrated price movements. However, there is empirical evidence that the prices of futures with different maturities might have, e.g., different jump behaviours in different market situations ...

Bacterial Diversity and Interaction Networks of Agave lechuguilla Rhizosphere Differ Significantly From Bulk Soil in the Oligotrophic Basin of Cuatro Cienegas

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Due to the environmental conditions presented in arid zones, it is expected to have a high influence of deterministic processes over the community assemblages.

Development of Accuracy for the Weighted Fuzzy Time Series Forecasting Model Using Lagrange Quadratic Programming

open access: yesJTAM (Jurnal Teori dan Aplikasi Matematika), 2023
Limitation within the WFTS model, which relies on midpoints within intervals and linguistic variable relationships for assigning weights. This reliance can result in reduced accuracy, especially when dealing with extreme values during trend to ...

Deterministic seasonality in Dickey–Fuller tests: should we care? [PDF]

open access: yesEmpirical Economics, 2006
This paper investigates the properties of Dickey–Fuller tests for seasonally unadjusted quarterly data when deterministic seasonality is present but it is neglected in the test regression. While for the random walk case the answer is straightforward, an extensive Monte Carlo study has to be performed for more realistic processes and testing strategies.

What Shapes the Phylogenetic Structure of Anuran Communities in a Seasonal Environment? The Influence of Determinism at Regional Scale to Stochasticity or Antagonistic Forces at Local Scale.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Ecological communities are structured by both deterministic and stochastic processes. We investigated phylogenetic patterns at regional and local scales to understand the influences of seasonal processes in shaping the structure of anuran communities in ...

Tendência, ciclos e sazonalidade nos preços spot do café brasileiro na NYBOT Trend, cycles and seasonality in spot prices of brazilian coffee at the NYBOT

Testing for Deterministic Components in Vector Seasonal Time Series

open access: yesOpen Journal of Statistics, 2011
Certain locally optimal tests for deterministic components in vector time series have associated sampling distributions determined by a linear combination of Beta variates. Such distributions are nonstandard and must be tabulated by Monte Carlo simulation.

Generalized seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average models for count data with application to malaria time series with low case numbers. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
INTRODUCTION: With the renewed drive towards malaria elimination, there is a need for improved surveillance tools. While time series analysis is an important tool for surveillance, prediction and for measuring interventions' impact, approximations by ...

A Two-Strain Deterministic Dengue Model With Seasonality Effect

open access: yesScience Proceedings Series, 2019
A compartmental model is proposed to describe the dynamics of vector-host interations for dengue disease transmission with coexistence of two virus serotypes. The model is modified to incorporate  seasonal-dependent mosquito birth rate in order to examine the influence of climatic factors such as rainfall and temperature on the dynamics of mosquito ...
