PiP‐Plex: A Particle‐in‐Particle System for Multiplexed Quantification of Proteins Secreted by Single Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Detecting proteins secreted by a single cell while retaining its viability remains challenging. A particles‐in‐particle (PiPs) system made by co‐encapsulating barcoded microparticles (BMPs) with a single cell inside an alginate hydrogel particle is introduced.

Polymerization Effects on the Decomposition of a Pyrazolo‐Triazine at high Temperatures and Pressures

open access: yesChemistryOpen, 2020
4‐amino‐3‐aminopyrazole‐8‐trinitropyrazolo‐[5, 1‐c] [1, 2, 4]triazine (PTX, C5H2N8O6) has good detonation performance, thermal stability and low mechanical sensitivity, which endow it with good development prospects in insensitive ammunition applications.

Crystal Engineering of Reticular Materials for Gas‐ and Liquid‐Phase Hydrocarbon Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Crystal engineering enables systematic study of structure/function relationships as exemplified by pore engineering of reticular sorbents, including porous coordination networks and covalent organic frameworks. This review assesses such studies applied across the full scope of industrially relevant hydrocarbon separations to provide insight into how ...

Transatmospheric vehicle research [PDF]

open access: yes
Research was conducted into the alternatives to the supersonic combustion ramjet (scramjet) engine for hypersonic flight. A new engine concept, the Oblique Detonation Wave Engine (ODWE) was proposed and explored analytically and experimentally.

Gradient‐Modified Li‐Rich Manganese‐Based Oxides Cathodes with Breakthrough of Kinetic Limitation for High‐Performance All‐Solid‐State Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The novel gradient‐modified LRMO has been synthesized via a one‐step mechano‐fusion process, with simultaneous S and Zr co‐doping in the near‐surface region and an amorphous coating. The synergistic co‐functionalization stabilizes the oxygen framework, enhances charge transport, and suppresses oxygen dimerization under high potential, which enable ...

Superionic Amorphous Li2ZrCl6 and Li2HfCl6

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Amorphous Li2HfCl6 and L2ZrCl6 are shown to be promising solid‐state electrolytes with predicted ionic conductivities >20 mS·cm−1. Molecular dynamics simulations with machine‐learning force fields reveal that anion vibrations and flexible MCl6 octahedra soften the Li coordination cage and enhance mobility. Correlation between Li‐ion diffusivity and the

Thermal X-Ray Emission from Shocked Ejecta in Type Ia Supernova Remnants II: Parameters Affecting the Spectrum

open access: yes, 2005
The supernova remnants left behind by Type Ia supernovae provide an excellent opportunity for the study of these enigmatic objects. In a previous work, we showed that it is possible to use the X-ray spectra of young Type Ia supernova remnants to explore ...

Perspective on Aqueous Batteries: Historical Milestones and Modern Revival

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review retraces the development of aqueous batteries from classical Zn‐MnO2 chemistry to modern Zn and Ni systems, correlating voltage, capacity, and electrolyte formulation with practical performance. By mapping historical success and failure onto current and future research directions, it identifies guiding principles that steer the design of ...
