Development and Applications of a New Optimization Algorithm

2012
All the nature-inspired algorithms such as genetic algorithm (GA), PSO, BBO, ABC, DE, etc. require algorithm parameters to be set for their proper working. Proper selection of parameters is essential for the searching of the optimum solution by these algorithms. A change in the algorithm parameters changes the effectiveness of the algorithms.

RC4D: A New Development of RC4 Encryption Algorithm

2021
Cryptography is one of the essential methods for securing the information. In cryptography, there are many encryption algorithms; some of them strong where the others are broken. RC4 stream cipher one of the most common algorithms that are characterized by its speed in implementation does not need large storage space and has less complexity, but there ...

A Developing of the Kemeny Median: New Types and Algorithms

Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis, 2021
The Kemeny median is the well-known method to get a coordinated decision for a group opinion. This ranking is known as the least different from experts’ individual orderings of alternatives. If rankings are immersed in a metric space like points, the median should be the mean ranking from the mathematical point of view.

Variable step-size LMS algorithm: new developments and experiments

Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems - ISCAS '94, 1994
The variable step size least mean square (VSLMS) algorithm is explored further and adopted for tracking of time varying environments. Two implementations of the VSLMS algorithm are proposed. Our emphasis is on the implementations with different step sizes at various taps of the adaptive filter.

A branch‐and‐bound algorithm for scheduling of new product development projects

International Transactions in Operational Research, 2012
AbstractIn this paper, we consider scheduling problem in a new product development project. Each research and development project consists of a set of activities in which each activity may be executed in several ways. Each way of execution of an activity is a different technology, called an alternative technology, which may fail due to technical risks.
