ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Use the information dimension, not the Hausdorff [PDF]
Multi-fractal patterns occur widely in nature. In developing new algorithms to determine multi-fractal spectra of experimental data I am lead to the conclusion that generalised dimensions $D_q$ of order $q\leq0$, including the Hausdorff dimension, are ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Recently, instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR) or diastolic pressure-ratio (dPR) have been used in practice. For these indices, the reliability of electrocardiography (ECG)-independent algorithm for pressure-only data is essential.

Developing new algorithms for estimating river discharge from space [PDF]
SWOT River Discharge Algorithms Workshop;Chapel Hill, North Carolina, 18–20 June 2012 Flow of water through rivers is a critical component of the global hydrologic cycle, yet present‐day discharge on many rivers remains poorly observed. The planned NASA/Centre National d'Études Spatiales (CNES) Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) satellite ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
