Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Developmental stages in a nonheterocystous filamentous cyanophyte

open access: yes, 1975
Developmental stages broadly similar to those previously reported in Nostoc have been seen in an Oscillatoria-like cyanophyte isolated from nature and grown in unialgal cultures.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Developmental Stages of Youth: Implications for Programming

open access: yes, 1995
As we examine and explore the programs that we will be developing in our agencies and organizations, one of the factors in the program development process is examining youth age characteristics.

Anticipation and harvest delay in oil and protein contents of soybean seeds, grow crops Valiosa RR

open access: yesScientia Agropecuaria, 2017
The objective of this work was to evaluate the physiological quality and oil and protein content of soybean seeds harvested in different stages of plant development and different periods of harvest delay.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Life cycle stages of Hepatozoon ingwe (Apicomplexa: Adeleorina: Hepatozoidae) in an Ixodes sp. tick vector (Arthropoda: Ixodida: Ixodidae) and an African leopard Panthera pardus pardus

open access: yesInternational Journal for Parasitology: Parasites and Wildlife
Intracellular apicomplexan haemoparasites from the genus Hepatozoon Miller 1908 have been described from a wide range of vertebrate hosts, including wild carnivores in Africa.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Duration of development time of the 7 developmental stages.

open access: yes, 2018
A: Duration of development time (in weeks) spent in each of the 7 developmental stages for S. stellaris embryos. Lines show mean ± SD (n = 8), while points show measurements from each individual.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
