A Multi-Resolution Approach to Point Cloud Registration without Control Points

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Terrestrial photographic imagery combined with structure-from-motion (SfM) provides a relatively easy-to-implement method for monitoring environmental systems, even in remote and rough terrain.

Investigations on the Wettability of Silicate Glass Melts on Tantalum, Niobium, and Their Oxides

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT In the past, niobium and tantalum oxides were primarily investigated for potential applications in advanced optics, electronics, and photonics due to their unique physical properties. In recent heating microscopy experiments, we observed interesting wetting characteristics of silicate glass melts in contact with these materials: unlike other ...

Bacterial communities in the rumen and feces of lactating Holstein dairy cows are not affected when fed reduced-fat dried distillers’ grains with solubles

open access: yesAnimal, 2021
Reduced-fat dried distillers’ grains with solubles (RF-DDGSs) are co-products of ethanol production and contain less fat than traditional distillers’ grains.

MagPiezo: A Magnetogenetic Platform for Remote Activation of Endogenous Piezo1 Channels in Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 31, 16 April 2026.
MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.

Engineering Compact Base Editors by AlphaFold‐Guided Mutation Scan and Escherichia coli‐Based Tri‐Selection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 20, 9 April 2026.
A miniaturized deaminase SsdAtox was scanned with AlphaFold to identify DNA binding pocket hot spots. Site‐saturation mutagenesis at gatekeeper residue K31 yielded ten‐fold activity enhancement. Trinity Screen, an E. coli‐based three‐in‐one platform selecting for high activity and reduced double‐strand breaks, enabled combinatorial evolution at DNA ...

Comparative Analysis of the Incidence, Prevalence, and Survival of 8 Types of Parkinsonism in a Population‐Based Study with 367 Million Person Years of Observation over 21 Years

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, Volume 13, Issue 4, Page 933-948, April 2026.
Abstract Background Findings are contradictory regarding changes in the incidence and prevalence of Parkinson's disease (PD) over time; data for other parkinsonian disorders are rare. Objectives To analyze temporal trends in the incidence and prevalence of eight parkinsonisms (PD, MSA, PSP, CBS, DLB, vascular parkinsonism, drug‐induced parkinsonism ...

Use of a Cytobrush for Sampling the Ear Canal of Dogs With Otitis Externa

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 37, Issue 2, Page 227-235, April 2026.
Cytological examination of the ear canal is essential for evaluating dogs with otitis externa (OE). The conventional sampling method uses a swab. However, the cytobrush (gynaecological cervical brush), already used for cytological collection from other anatomical sites, has not been adequately investigated for this purpose in dogs with OE.

Borehole Logging Lithological Classification in Carbonatite‐Hosted Niobium Deposit Integrating Geophysical and Geochemical Data With Self‐Organizing Maps

open access: yesGeophysical Prospecting, Volume 74, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Lithological classification from borehole data remains challenging in geologically complex alkaline–carbonatite systems, where compositional overlap and gradual transitions between lithotypes limit conventional interpretation methods. This study presents an integrated and automated workflow for drill‐core lithological classification using self‐

Effects of Traceability Scope and Sample Quantity on Origin Tracing of Mineral Elements in Mung Beans

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
Mineral element fingerprint analysis technology is one of the effective methods for grain origin identification. The accuracy of the identification model is closely related to sample origin, including traceability scope and sample quantity. ABSTRACT Mineral element fingerprint analysis technology is one of the effective methods for grain origin ...
