Simulation of the Rotational Molding Process of Polyethylene Using the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Method

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
Numerical simulation of polyethylene rotational molding using the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method. ABSTRACT This work presents the development of a numerical model based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method to simulate the rotational molding process of powder thermoplastic polymers, used in the manufacture of liners for high‐

Exploring the Physical Therapy Field at DHR

open access: yes, 2023
1 Broadside. 48"W x 36"HI was able to shadow DPT Jesus Martinez from DHR Health Orthopedic and Sports Therapy Institute in Edinburg, Texas. I was not hands-on due to the institute of DHR’s protocols, but my shadowing experience consisted of ...

Investigation of a Polyamide 6 (PA6) and Polybutylene Succinate (PBS) Blend as Candidate Matrix for Self‐Healing Application

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
This illustration shows polyamide 6 (PA6) blended with 20–50% polybutylene succinate (PBS) by volume. The balance between tensile properties, fracture toughness and self‐healing capability is achieved in the 30% vol PBS blend. Thermal healing at 140°C results in 40% fracture toughness recovery in a blend containing 30% vol PBS.

Leucaena Oil Functionalized With Osmium Tetroxide as a Precursor for Polyol‐Based Polyurethane

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Leucaena leucocephala seed oil is converted into a hydroxyl‐functional biopolyol through OsO4‐mediated dihydroxylation. The resulting biopolyol shows a hydroxyl number of 160–175 mg KOH g−1 and is successfully used to produce flexible, open‐cell polyurethane foams, highlighting a renewable route for converting underutilized biomass into value‐added ...

DHR leads to mitochondrial membrane potential collapse in human plasma cells.

open access: yes, 2013
LP1 cells were treated with DMSO, 10 or 20 µM of DHR for 24 h, stained by TMRM alone (A) or in combination with Annexin V-FITC (B) followed by flow cytometric analysis.

3D‐Printed Crosslinked Nanocellulose‐MXene Hydrogels and Aerogels with High Strength and Conductivity

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This study presents a robust strategy for 3D printing conductive, mechanically resilient MXene–CNF composite structures using a single‐step freeze‐induced crosslinking method. The printed architectures remain stable in both wet and dry states, exhibit high electrical conductivity and mechanical strength, and demonstrate practical application in fully ...

Vine Tendril‐Inspired Cold‐Programmable Shape‐Memory Polymer Composites Using Sugar Beet Pulp

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Vine tendrils inspire a bio‐derived, cold‐programmable shape‐memory polymer composite (SMPC). Magnetically guided sugar beet pulp creates mesoscale heterogeneity within a glassy matrix, producing built‐in mechanical asymmetry for rapid, solvent‐free programming by simple stretching.
