DHR induces human plasma cell death by activating apoptotic pathway.

open access: yes, 2013
A, Human plasma cells LP1 and KMS11 were treated with DHR at the indicated concentrations for 24 h. Cell lysates were then prepared and subject to immunoblotting assay against apoptosis-associated proteins caspase-3, -8 and -9.

Integrated safety and security enhancement of connected automated vehicles using DHR architecture

open access: yes, 2023
Safety and security are interrelated and both essential for connected automated vehicles (CAVs). They are usually investigated independently, followed by standards ISO 26262 and ISO/SAE 21434, respectively.

Nanostructured Optical Superabsorbers from Carbon Nanotube Forest for Heat Management Using Environmental Blackbody Radiation from the Visible to Mid‐Infrared

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Our computational model of the optical absorption from multiwalled carbon nanotubes suggests the optical absorption depends strongly on the in‐plane electrical conductivity, and weakly on the through‐plane conductivity. Such strong absorption enables solar‐to‐thermal conversion for heat scavenging in cold climates and radiative cooling in hot climates,

DHR is a compartmentalized phenomenon.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) Positive DHR responses occur only when the priming (blue circles) and gating (red circles) stimuli arrive within the same individual dendritic electrical compartment (configuration a).

Designing, Implementing and Optimising a Capacity-Building Model for Infectious Disease Modelling in India

open access: yesAnnals of Global Health
Background: Mathematical models are not integrated into the policy-making process in low- and middle-income countries, including India, primarily due to limited capacity in building mathematical models, lack of trust in the model findings and the ...

Characterization and Preliminary Investigation of Alkylpolyglucoside Combined With a Biopolymer for Enhanced Oil Recovery

open access: yesJournal of Surfactants and Detergents, EarlyView.
Materials and main results of the study. ABSTRACT Surfactant–polymer (SP) flooding is a promising Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technique, combining improved displacement from surfactants with enhanced sweep efficiency from polymers. This study investigates two SP systems based on the biopolymer scleroxanthan (a blend of sclerotium gum and xanthan gum ...

Optimal scheduling of service requirements with a DHR tail in the M/G/1 queue

open access: yes, 2007
We consider the mean delay optimization in the M/G/1 queue for service time distributions that have a tail with decresing hazard rate (DHR). If the DHR property is valid for the whole distribution, then it is known that the Foreground-Background (FB ...
