Mammography Diagnostic Reference Levels (DRLs) in Ghana
Radiography, 2021Diagnostic Reference Levels (DRLs) are essential for optimisation in mammography. A local DRL for screen-film mammography has been established in Ghana but none exists for the digital mammography systems. Furthermore, technological advancement is phasing out the use of screen-film mammography and replacing it with digital mammography systems.

W1 demand [4]. Dose limits apply to occupational and public exposure, not to exposure of patients (medical exposure), because limits may compromise patient care. Diagnostic reference levels are used as a trigger to identify those facilities using unusually high doses in a specified radiologic procedure, for which optimization actions are needed.

Local Diagnostic Reference Levels in Interventional Radiology
Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences, 2020Interventional cardiology procedures, during which live images are acquired, involve exposure to x-rays. The use of fluoroscopy can cause high radiation doses to patients and operators because of the prolonged duration of x-ray emission. For this reason, special attention and constant vigilance represent challenges for commissions and groups of experts

Mammography diagnostic reference levels in Western Australia
Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine, 2020Mammography dose data has been collected from Western Australian units to establish Diagnostic Reference Levels for the state. Reference levels have been determined for a variety of phantom thicknesses for both full field digital mammography units and digital breast tomosynthesis units.

Diagnostic reference levels in interventional radiology
Physics in Medicine and Biology, 2000Following the release of European Directive EU 97/43, radiodiagnostic facilities within the European Union are required to implement a system of patient dose reviews based on comparisons with European, national and local diagnostic reference levels (DRLs). Establishing these levels for typical interventional radiology examinations presents a problem as

Provision of Italian diagnostic reference levels for diagnostic and interventional radiology
La radiologia medica, 2020The diagnostic reference level (DRL) is a useful tool for the optimisation of medical exposures. Thus, a Working Party coordinated by the Italian National Institute of Health and the National Workers Compensation Authority has been formed to provide Italian DRLs, for both diagnostic and interventional procedures, to be used as appropriate for the ...

A local diagnostic reference level for velopharyngeal investigations
The British Journal of Radiology, 2005The purpose of this study was to derive an initial local diagnostic reference level for velopharyngeal investigations carried out as standard radiological practice in the Medical Imaging Department, Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. This is a specialist video-fluoroscopic radiological technique used to evaluate velopharyngeal dysfunction ...
