Uniqueness Condition for Nonunitary Joint Diagonalization
2010 International Conference on Machine Vision and Human-machine Interface, 2010Joint Diagonalization(JD) of a set of matrices is a potential tool in signal processing area. The uniqueness condition for Non-unitary Joint Diagonalization(NJD) is deduced in this paper, which serve as a mathematical foundation for the application of NJD. The uniqueness of NJD is that the vectors consisting of diagonal elements in the same position of

On the structure of the diagonal conditions
International Journal of Quantum Chemistry, 1978AbstractSome structural features of the diagonal problem of reduced density matrix theory are investigated by considering the cone Br introduced elsewhere. In some special cases, we discover a very tight connection between the group structure of Gr, the invariance group of Br, and the convex structure of Br. We also state a general theorem that relates

Diagonal bi-acts over semigroups with finiteness conditions
Semigroup Forum, 2014It is proved that if the diagonal bi-act \(_S(S\times S)_S\) over an infinite epigroup \(S\) is finitely generated, then \(S=G\sqcup N\) (disjoint union), where \(G\) is an infinite group with finitely many conjugacy classes and \(N\) a certain ideal of \(S\).

Pseudoblock conditions of diagonal dominance
Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2006Summary: The paper presents new pseudoblock diagonal-dominance conditions for matrices with fixed block partitioning, which generalize the pointwise \(k\)th-order diagonal-dominance conditions and pointwise circuit diagonaldominance conditions. For matrices satisfying pseudoblock conditions, the singularity/nonsingularity problem is considered.

On determinantal diagonal dominance conditions
Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2011The paper suggests sufficient nonsingularity conditions for matrices in terms of certain determinantal relations of diagonal dominance type, which improve and generalize some known results. These conditions are used to describe new eigenvalue inclusion sets and to derive new two-sided bounds on the determinants of matrices satisfying them. Bibliography:

Complete diagonalization of thermodynamic stability conditions
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1979Abstract It is shown that the local existence of certain thermodynamic potentials allows for the complete diagonalization of thermodynamic stability conditions, so that only one-dimensional extrema have to be investigated.

On the use of diagonal control versus decoupling for ill-conditioned processes
Automatica, 1997We argue that ill-conditioned processes do not necessarily preclude the use of decoupling control. This applies also if the process is ill-conditioned in the crossover frequency range of a diagonal controller. Therefore the rule that one should never use a decoupler for ill-conditioned plants is misleading. The investigation is based on a discussion of
