Common Diagonal Stability of Second Order Interval Systems
Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics, 2014In this paper for second order interval systems we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a common diagonal solutions to the Lyapunov (Stein) inequality. Hurwitz and Schur cases are considered separately. One necessary and sufficient condition is given for n×n interval family of Z-matrices.

Parametrization Issues of the Diagonal Stabilization Problem
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1995Abstract In this paper parametrization issues for the problem of Diagonal Decentralized Stabilization, ( DDSP ), of linear, time invariant, MIMO systems, are addressed via the algebraic framework of Matrix Fractional Description, (MFD), of the system transfer matrices.

Robust stability of diagonally dominant systems
IEE Proceedings D Control Theory and Applications, 1984The paper deals with the stability of linear multivariable systems with diagonally dominant matrix transfer function subject to parameter perturbations. Sufficient conditions for stability in presence of either additive or multiplicative variations are found. A circle theorem is developed which yields a Nyquist-type graphical interpretation.

Complete diagonalization of thermodynamic stability conditions
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1979Abstract It is shown that the local existence of certain thermodynamic potentials allows for the complete diagonalization of thermodynamic stability conditions, so that only one-dimensional extrema have to be investigated.

Online stabilization of block-diagonal recurrent neural networks
IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, 1999This paper deals with a discrete-time recurrent neural network (DTRNN) with a block-diagonal feedback weight matrix, called the block-diagonal recurrent neural network (BDRNN), that allows a simplified approach to online training and to address network and training stability issues.

Stability of Equilibria via Regularity of the Diagonal Subdifferential Operator
Set-Valued and Variational Analysis, 2017In order to provide the stability, the authors study the Aubin property for the solution set of a parametric equilibrium problem, following the diagonal subdifferential operator of the corresponding equilibrium bifunction. Reviewer's remark: It is a significant scientific contribution to the study of the equilibria stability problems.

Diagonal dominance for robust stability of multivariable interval systems
Proceedings of 32nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002We consider the problem of robust stability of a MIMO feedback system in the presence of parametric perturbations. More specifically, we consider the case when the entries of the system transfer matrix are interval plants, i.e. transfer functions whose numerator and denominator are interval polynomials.

On the diagonal stability for the Metzler matrices
Communications in Optimization TheorySummary: We present a new proof of a classical theorem concerning Lyapunov functions for a stable Metzler matrix. The theorem says that the Lyapunov matrix can be taken diagonal. The proof is based on characterization of positive diagonal matrices via the Lyapunov inequality.
