Computational procedure for a weighted diallel analysis
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1987A diallel analysis is described for the case in which the values of the characteristic used in an inheritance study have unequal variances. Such a characteristic can be a mean, a slope of a regression line, or the estimates of some parameter of a linear or nonlinear model.

A diallel analysis of nicotine-induced hypothermia
Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 1984The hypothermic responses of mice that occur after acute injection of nicotine show genetic influences. The body temperatures of mice of all five strains tested decreased after injection of either 0.75 or 1.5 mg/kg nicotine, but mice of the C3H strain were less affected than were those of the DBA, BALB, or C57BL strains.

Critical issues in the use of diallel analysis are reviewed. From a statistical point of view the critical issue concerns the choice of a model with fixed or random genotypic effects. From a genetical point of view, two assumptions are critical in attempts to interpret the resuits of diallel analyses.

Evaluation of the normal equations for the analysis of diallels
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1982Analysis of diallel experiments usually requires specialised computer programs. A simple relationship between the normal equations for a diallel and the normal equations for a hypothetical model in which the general combining ability factor is viewed as two separate distinct simple factors may be useful in adapting general statistical analysis packages

Diallelic multilocus model of neutral genes
Journal of Mathematical Biology, 1987The evolution of a completely linked diallelic multilocus system of neutral genes in a finite population is studied. A diffusion model incorporating random genetic drift and mutation is used. We neglect the recombination. To begin with, the spectral analysis of the Kolmogorov backward equation for this model is investigated.

The diallel method used by Anisman (1976a) involves crossing each strain with every other reciprocally so that, as in this case, the use of three parental strains generates a 3 × 3 diallel table of family means in which the reciprocal crosses, by which prenatal maternal effects can be detected (see Section 9.1), are distributed symmetrically around the

Selection and mutation at a diallelic X-linked locus
Journal of Mathematical Biology, 1991Equilibria and convergence of gene frequencies are studied in the case of a diallelic X-linked locus under the influence of selection and mutation. The model used is that of an infinite diploid population with nonoverlapping discrete generations and random mating. It is proved that if the mutation rates and fitnesses are constant and the mutation rates

Partial diallel cross block designs.
Ars Comb., 2002Let \(D_b\) be a block design for a diallel cross experiment, with \(b\) blocks containing \(k\) crosses each. Let \(p\) be the number of all (parental) lines. The paper is about partial diallel crosses (PDC), which means that the design \(D_b\) is laid on \(n_c\) crosses, where \(n_c\) can be much smaller than \(p(p-1)/2\).
