Quantitative Insights into the Genetic Mechanisms of Crop Heterosis. [PDF]
Inheritance patterns of genomics‐downstream molecules, including transcripts, proteins, and metabolites, are analyzed in hybrid crops. The additive effect, which describes mid‐parent level, is a predominant inheritance pattern in crop heterosis and can be used to improve breeding efficiency of high‐yield hybrid varieties.

The transmission ability in a population of elite tetraploid potatoes. [PDF]
Abstract Crop potato, Solanum tuberosum L., has great genetic improvement potential, but vegetative propagation, tetrasomic inheritance, and inbreeding depression have limited genetic gain in the elite gene pool. To elucidate the transmission ability of breeding material in the current elite gene pool, we estimated the additive genetic variance and ...

The Big BIT maize experiment: A large multi-location, multi-year, multi-tester, multi-population predictive breeding validation study. [PDF]
Abstract The Big Breeding Innovation Team (Big BIT) maize (Zea mays L.) experiment was one of the largest genomic data‐informed predictive breeding validation studies ever conducted. The experiment was a multi‐location, multi‐year, multi‐tester, multi‐population study involving F1 maize hybrids created by crossing individual doubled haploids to inbred ...

Combining Ability of Indonesian Tropical Maize in Two Different Seasons
Testing an inbred cross for hybrid development requires a proper test cross method. The diallel is one crossing method to find out the magnitude of inbred combining ability, both general general (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) and specific ...

Estimates of genetic parameters in diallelic populations of cotton subjected to water stress [PDF]
The objective of this study was to estimate the general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) of cotton genotypes subjected to water stress, based on fiber quality traits. Irrigated cotton plants were grown in the dry season in the

Genetic Control of Self-Incompatibility in Centromadia (Hemizonia) Pungens Subsp. Laevis (Madiinae, Asteraceae) [PDF]
The presence of self-incompatibility was tested in Centromadia pun gens subsp. laevis and the genetic basis of the self-incompatibility response was explored using crossing studies. We performed full diallel crossing experiments among 10 individuals from
