The demand for tree height derivation is increasing year by year, especially for large plantation and forest area. The conventional method needs a long time to complete tree measurement for large forest area, especially when using a pole, measuring tape,

Height-diameter allometry of tropical forest trees [PDF]
Tropical tree height-diameter (H:D) relationships may vary by forest type and region making large-scale estimates of above-ground biomass subject to bias if they ignore these differences in stem allometry.

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

Prediction of alpaca fibre quality by near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy
Rapid and efficient methods to evaluate variables associated with fibre quality are essential in animal breeding programs and fibre trade. Near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) combined with multivariate analysis was evaluated to predict textile ...

Flow patterns and heat transfer for flow boiling in small to micro diameter tubes
An overview of the recent developments in the study of flow patterns and boiling heat transfer in small to micro diameter tubes is presented. The latest results of a long-term study of flow boiling of R134a in five vertical stainless steel tubes of ...

Automatic and Self-Adaptive Stem Reconstruction in Landslide-Affected Forests
Terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) is a promising technique for plot-wise acquisition of geometric attributes of forests. However, there still exists a need for TLS applications in mountain forests where tree stems’ growing directions are not vertical ...

Veneer based products made of large diameter timber
S.43-49Plywood production in Germany has been declining for many years although the consumption in this country is high. On the other hand, a large and still increasing supply of large diameter timber is growing in German forests.
