Enhancement in Sustained Release of Antimicrobial Peptide from Dual-Diameter-Structured TiO2 Nanotubes for Long-Lasting Antibacterial Activity and Cytocompatibility [PDF]
Novel films on Ti-based orthopedic implants for localized antimicrobial delivery, which comprises dual-diameter TiO2 nanotubes with the inner layers of compact and fluorine-free oxide tightly bonding to Ti, were formed by voltage-increased anodization ...

We have been working with carbon nanotube separation through host–guest chemistry. Herein, a new macrocyclic host molecule, Cu-tethered square nanobrackets, is designed, synthesized and applied to single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) for their diameter-

Effect of terahertz irradiation on DNA damage repair in living cells
We investigated the effect of terahertz (THz) wave irradiation on DNA double‐strand break (DSB) repair in living cells. We found that THz irradiation enhanced DSB repair at specific frequencies, whereas heat treatment inhibited it, indicating that this effect is nonthermal and frequency‐specific.

Diameter-Optimum Spreading for the Impinging of Water Nanodroplets on Solid Surfaces [PDF]
The impinging of water nanodroplets on solid surfaces is crucial to many nanotechnologies. Through large-scale molecular dynamics simulations, the size effect on the spreading of water nanodroplets after impinging on hydrophilic, graphite, and ...

Determination of wave speed and distensibility of flexible tubes using diameter and velocity [PDF]
It is well accepted that wave speed is one of the key factors describing wave propagation in arteries. Local wave speed is directly related to the mechanical properties of the arterial wall and is widely used to determine the arterial distensibility ...

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

Delivery of DNA‐encoded vaccines and proteins in mice using cutaneous suction‐mediated transfection
Cutaneous suction‐mediated transfection in mice for delivery of DNA‐encoded vaccines and proteins. A critical limitation of DNA vaccines and other therapeutics is transfection in vivo to produce the encoded antigens or therapeutic proteins. Cutaneous suction‐based methods have demonstrated effectiveness in many animal models and have been successfully ...

We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...
