Establishment and biological characterization of radioresistant colorectal cancer cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Under ionizing radiation exposure, radiation‐sensitive cancer cells exhibit oxidative stress and DNA damage, while radiation‐resistant cancer cells exhibit strong antioxidant properties and DNA damage repair. Radiotherapy resistance is a major cause of recurrence and metastasis in colorectal cancer (CRC).

Diameter Polytopes of Feasible Binary Programs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Feasible binary programs often have multiple optimal solutions, which is of interest in applications as they allow the user to choose between alternative optima without deteriorating the objective function. In this article, we present the optimal diameter of a feasible binary program as a metric for measuring the diversity among all optimal solutions ...

Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

On the Orbital Diameter of Primitive Affine Groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The orbital diameter of a primitive permutation group is the maximal diameter of its orbital graphs. There has been a lot of interest in bounds for the orbital diameter. In this paper we provide explicit bounds on the diameters of groups of primitive affine groups with almost quasisimple point stabilizer.

Characterization Results for the L(2, 1, 1)-Labeling Problem on Trees

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2017
An L(2, 1, 1)-labeling of a graph G is an assignment of non-negative integers (labels) to the vertices of G such that adjacent vertices receive labels with difference at least 2, and vertices at distance 2 or 3 receive distinct labels. The span of such a

METTL3 knockout accelerates hepatocarcinogenesis via inhibiting endoplasmic reticulum stress response

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Liver‐specific knockout of N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase METTL3 significantly accelerated hepatic tumor initiation under various oncogenic challenges, contrary to the previously reported oncogenic role of METTL3 in liver cancer cell lines or xenograft models. Mechanistically, METTL3 deficiency reduced m6A deposition on Manf transcripts and

Bounds for the minimum oriented diameter [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
We consider the problem of finding an orientation with minimum diameter of a connected bridgeless graph. Fomin et. al. discovered a relation between the minimum oriented diameter an the size of a minimal dominating set. We improve their upper bound.

Reproductive biology of Rachycentron canadum in the Persian Gulf (Hormozgan Province waters)

open access: yes‬‭Majallah-i ̒Ilmī-i Shīlāt-i Īrān, 2008
We collected 478 specimens of Cobia, Rachycentron canadum, from Hormozgan province waters during October 2005 till September 2006, and studied reproductive parameters such as spawning season, sex ratio, maturity stages, fecundity and ova diameter.
