The Magnitude-Diameter Relation of Galaxies

open access: yes, 2008
We investigate the dependence of the luminosity-diameter relation of galaxies on the environment. This study is based on a comparison between the 80 galaxies in the Shapley-Ames Catalog that are located within a distance of 10 Mpc, and the luminosity ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

A Simple and Rapid Method for the Diameter Detection of Cellulose Nanocrystals via Sedimentation Method

open access: yesBioResources, 2022
The diameter of nanocellulose most often is detected using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and other related techniques.

Correlation Length From Cluster-Diameter Distribution

open access: yes, 1995
We report numerical estimates of correlation lengths in 2D Potts models from the asymptotic decay of the cluster-diameter distribution. Using this observable we are able to verify theoretical predictions for the correlation length in the disordered phase

Diameter-invariant graphs [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Bohemica, 2005
Summary: The diameter of a graph \(G\) is the maximal distance between two vertices of~\(G\). A graph \(G\) is said to be diameter-edge-invariant, if \(d(G-e)=d(G)\) for all its edges, diameter-vertex-invariant, if \(d(G-v)=d(G)\) for all its vertices and diameter-adding-invariant if \(d(G+e)=d(e)\) for all edges of the complement of the edge set of ...

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Elimination trial of 18 poplar clones (Populus deltoides and Populus euramericana) in the research stations (Mehregan and Eslamabad) in Kermanshah [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات جنگل و صنوبر ایران, 2006
In order to select and introduce the promissing clones of Populus deltoids and P. euramericana, 18 clones were planted 4×4 m in two research stations of Kermanshah province.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Solar diameter with 2012 Venus transit

open access: yes, 2012
The role of Venus and Mercury transits is crucial to know the past history of the solar diameter. Through the W parameter, the logarithmic derivative of the radius with respect to the luminosity, the past values of the solar luminosity can be recovered ...
