A Simple and Rapid Method for the Diameter Detection of Cellulose Nanocrystals via Sedimentation Method

open access: yesBioResources, 2022
The diameter of nanocellulose most often is detected using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and other related techniques.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Elimination trial of 18 poplar clones (Populus deltoides and Populus euramericana) in the research stations (Mehregan and Eslamabad) in Kermanshah [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات جنگل و صنوبر ایران, 2006
In order to select and introduce the promissing clones of Populus deltoids and P. euramericana, 18 clones were planted 4×4 m in two research stations of Kermanshah province.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Diameters, distortion, and eigenvalues

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 2012
We study the relation between the diameter, the first positive eigenvalue of the discrete $p$-Laplacian and the $\ell_p$-distortion of a finite graph. We prove an inequality relating these three quantities and apply it to families of Cayley and Schreier graphs.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Determination of wave intensity in flexible tubes using measured diameter and velocity

open access: yes, 2007
Wave intensity (WI) is a hemodynamics index, which is the product of changes in pressure and velocity across the wave-front. Wave Intensity Analysis, which is a time domain technique allows for the separation of running waves into their forward and ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Vertical upward flow patterns in small diameter tubes

open access: yes, 2005
Two-phase flow patterns were studied in vertical small diameter tubes using R134a as the working fluid. The observed flow patterns include bubbly, dispersed bubble, confined bubble, slug, churn, annular and mist flow.
