Diamond biocompatible coatings for medical implants [PDF]
New carbon (diamond-like) nanocomposite coatings deposited from a C60 ionic beam can be used as a wear-resistant protective coating for implants. It was found that these coatings enhance resistance to тelectrochemical corrosion processes due to a shift ...

Removing Oxide Layers and Retaining Oxide‐Free Steel Surfaces by Polishing in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
In this study, the efficacy of wet mechanical polishing under an oxygen‐free atmosphere for deoxidation and the retention of an oxide‐free steel surface are elucidated using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The methodology proved successful; however, the results were highly dependent on the preparation of the solvents used to clean the samples after ...

Simulation Modelling of Diamond-like Carbon Film for Semiconductor Device Passivation
In order to build the simulative model of diamond-like carbon, it used PECVD to deposite diamond-like carbon from quartz and silicon substrate, which was suitable for power semiconductor device as passivation layer.

The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Formation of Nanofoam carbon and re-emergence of Superconductivity in compressed CaC6 [PDF]
Pressure can tune material's electronic properties and control its quantum state, making some systems present disconnected superconducting region as observed in iron chalcogenides and heavy fermion CeCu2Si2.

Nanodiamond dispersions in nanostructured metals [PDF]
A microstructure refined to the nanometer scale originates mechanical property improvements [1]. However ultra-fine grain metals present low thermal stability, requiring the presence of particle dispersions to delay coarsening by grain boundary pinning ...

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.
