Epidemiology Diaper rashes are among the most common skin disorders of infancy. In one survey of 1089 infants, diaper dermatitis occurred in 50%; however, only 5% had severe rash. The peak incidence of diaper dermatitis is between 9 and 12 months of age.

Amoxicillin and diaper dermatitis
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 1988Multiple skin sites and the gastrointestinal tract of 57 infants with otitis media were cultured quantitatively for Candida albicans before and after antibiotic therapy. Ten days of systemic therapy with amoxicillin was associated with a twofold increase in the recovery of C. albicans from the rectum and skin.
