Endoscopic Removal of Superabsorbent Polymer Material Ingested From a Diaper: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

ABSTRACT A 75‐year‐old woman with dementia was hospitalized for open reduction and internal fixation of a right femoral stem periprosthetic fracture. While under postoperative observation, she ingested a large amount of disposable diaper material containing a superabsorbent polymer. Emergency endoscopic removal was performed on the same day.
