Effect of Light on Pycnospore Formation of Diaporthe citri Fawcett

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Phytopathology, 1973
The pycnospore formation of Diaporthe citri was markedly increased when the fungus was cultured under the continuous illumination of “black-light blue” (BLB) fluorescent lamp. The effective wave length was 324 or 355nm, obtained through interference filters.

Species limits in Diaporthe: molecular re-assessment of D. citri, D. cytosporella, D. foeniculina and D. rudis [PDF]

open access: yesPersoonia - Molecular Phylogeny and Evolution of Fungi, 2014
Species of Diaporthe are important plant pathogens of a wide range of hosts worldwide. In the present study the species causing melanose and stem end rot diseases of Citrus spp. are revised. Three species of Diaporthe occurring on Citrus are characterised, including D. citri, D. cytosporella and D. foeniculina.

Common mycorrhizal networks enhance defense responses against pathogens in neighboring plants

open access: yesiMetaOmics, Volume 2, Issue 1, March 2025.
The common mycorrhizal networks (CMNs) provide a channel for interplant communication, which enables plants of different species to prepare for pathogen infections without direct exposure. The CMNs change the microbial abundance and community structure of the neighboring plants following pathogen infection in the donor plants, which further enhances ...

Molecular characterization of diaporthe citri isolates using faflp technique.

open access: yes, 2022
Citriculture is a market in expansion specially in Sao Paulo State, whose importance in the economy is already recognized. Like any other cultivated species, the increase of planted areas contributes to an increase in disease problems. Thus, many diseases affect citrus species, including melanose, caused by Diaporthe citri (Wolf.), to which most ...

Citrus Black Spot Symptoms on Fruit Exposed to Phyllosticta citricarpa Infections at Different Developmental Stages

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2025.
ABSTRACT Citrus black spot (CBS), caused by Phyllosticta citricarpa, is an important fungal disease of citrus. Higher CBS severity has been associated with P. citricarpa infections at the young and green stages of fruit. The length of the fruit susceptibility period may be influenced by the amount of inoculum and the climate of the citrus growing ...
