A highly sensitive fluorescent sensor for Cd2+ and Zn2+ based on diarylethene with a pyrene unit.
Spectrochimica Acta Part A - Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2020A novel multifunctional diarylethene fluorescence sensor 1O containing pyrene unit was designed and synthesized. The photochromism and fluorescence photoswitching properties of this diarylethene were studied in detail by irradiation of UV/Vis lights and ...

Single Molecule Multiphotochromism with Diarylethenes
Accounts of Chemical Research, 2012In single photochromes, the two isomers that are interconverted in photoinduced reactions can serve as on and off states in a molecular switching device. The addition of several photochromic moieties onto a single molecule can allow the processing of more complex logical patterns.

A H2O-induced fluorescence turn-on diarylethene derivative and its fluorescent sensing Al3+
, 2021A diarylethene derivative has been synthesized by attaching a photochromic core to a pyrazine moiety through an aroylhydrazone linker. The compound showed weak excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) based fluorescence in a series of polar ...

AbstractThis article introduces the general characteristics of the diarylethene class of photochromic dye and the structural features that make photochromism possible. It touches on the methodologies employed to synthesize these compounds as well as the influences that typical substitution patterns exert on photocoloration.

The allomorphism of a photochromic diarylethene
Tetrahedron Letters, 2003Abstract The photochromic diarylethene, 1,2-bis(2-methyl-5-(2,2′-dicyanovinyl)-thien-3-yl)perfluorocyclopentene ( 1a ), was synthesized by a novel method. Two kinds of single crystals of the compound were obtained depending on the different recrystallization conditions and their structures were determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis ...

A photochromic diarylethene with phenolic Schiff base 1a can be easily transformed to photochromic diarylethene with benzoxazole 3a in the conditions of base and phototrigger. Both of their photochromic properties are investigated. They show that the conversions of ring-open form to ring-closed form at photostationary equilibrium are ca.

Photochromism of a diarylethene dimer
SPIE Proceedings, 2005A fluorene derivative having two diarylethene units at the 9,9'-positions was synthesized, and the photochromic behavior was examined in solution. Upon irradiation with UV (240nm), the solution of the diarylethene dimer turned yellow. It can returned to ring-open form upon irradiation with visible light (405nm).
